full motion tv mounted on drywall Hamilton HeightsTV mounting in and around Hamilton Heights is one of the best ways to save space and tidy up your living room! There’s nothing more exciting than coming home with a new flat screen TV. Or maybe you’ve just moved into a new place and need to figure out where to put your current TV. Either way, you might end up wanting to get your TV mounted to a wall. After all, if you’re in an apartment, space is hard to come by.

Mounting your TV on the wall would be a great way to set it up! You won’t have to have some of your living room space taken up by a TV stand or cabinet. Wall mounting makes sense.

But sometimes, you might not want to go through the hassle of mounting it yourself. There’s a lot to figure out, like what kind of wall mounts fit your TV. Or what kind of brackets will fit. Or where you could put your TV in the first place!

Even without knowing all of that, you still might need an extra pair of hands to help set it up.

You might need someone to hold it up while it’s being mounted. Unless you want to do it completely alone and risk dropping your TV… Don’t do it alone, hire us for your TV mounting needs. You’ll be buying yourself the comfort and peace of mind of  knowing that it was installed perfectly!

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU
MOUNT A TV ON A WALL!

brick background Hamilton HeightsYou might be wondering if your wall can support the weight of your TV. The best types of walls that can support the weight of something that big are ones that have studs. Those are supports behind your walls that hold them up, and can be great supports for other things too.

You’ll also have to think of what kind of mounts you want to use. A fully articulate mount can be really convenient, but they can be a little ugly. They’re also a little tougher to install and might not be so great for cord management. You also might want to consider what else is in or near the room that you want to mount your TV in. If it’s near noisy a radiator or AC, then you might not be able to hear your own TV! Or worse, the noise from outside might make hearing difficult.

This is New York City, after all!

Finally, you might want to think about how high up your TV should go. You probably don’t want it too high, or too low, or off-center!

Fortunately for you, when you hire us, we can do all this thinking and consideration for you! The question of wall mounting is one that we get all the time. We’ve seen it all and we’ve done it all, and this is no exception.

If you have any uncertainty about how to get your wall mounting job done, then don’t hesitate to ask us!

WHAT ELSE WILL YOU NEED
WHEN YOU’RE MOUNTING A TV IN Hamilton Heights?

It’s not such a straightforward process as you might think. You’ve got to have had everything thought through before you make even one move. For example, first of all, do you have access to all of

large media cabinet with TVthe tools you might need for this job? You might need a stud finder, then a drill bit, then a screwdriver bit, and possibly some other things. If you don’t have access to any of those, then you’d be stuck at step one!

The next most important thing to consider is the wall itself where the TV will go. If there are no studs behind it, then it might be difficult to hang any weight on that wall. Then, you’ve got to consider where will your devices go—game consoles, cable boxes, sound systems, etc.? Maybe you can have shelving installed near where your TV is going to go!

Next, will you want to do something about your cords? The clean, minimalist look of a mounted TV might be ruined by dangling cords. Plus, it might be a disaster if someone walks by it and gets something caught on a hanging cord.

It’s a lot to consider for what might seem like a pretty simple job. So leave it to a pro to figure it out for you! Reach out, and we can ensure that it gets done right.

WHAT TV WALL MOUNT IN Hamilton Heights DO I NEED?

64357 W3The most common type of TV mount, and the one you probably have, is the TV wall mount bracket. They are what hold the TV up and anchor it into your wall. And there are generally three types of brackets: fixed, tilting, and full-motion. Each type has its own pros and cons.

Fixed brackets, as the name implies, stay in place and can’t be adjusted. One upside to having fixed brackets is that they’re sturdy and strong compared to other types. They’re the cheapest type of brackets as well.

The next type is the tilt mount, otherwise known as a profile tilting mount. Tilting mounts allow for the screen to tilt upward or downward. Unfortunately, they can’t offer any horizontal movement.

The last type is a full motion TV wall mount. Some companies call these a swivel mount, or extending arm, or another name that all describes the same thing. This mount offers the most impressive range of viewing angles. Full motion mounts can be folded against the wall, or moved horizontally and/or vertically. This allows for a wide range of viewing angles no matter where you are! However, they generally come at a slightly higher cost and a more complicated installation process.

Not all mounts are the same, but with my experience, we’ve seen a little bit of everything. If you don’t want to worry about how or where to install your TV, then we can handle it for you!

VESA INTERFACE TV
MOUNT STANDARDS

Ever heard of VESA patterns? It refers to the layout of four mounting screw holes that may be on the back of your TV. VESA is a standard adopted by the major TV manufacturers. You can put upstandard small tv mount stock photo a large TV on your wall with the VESA hole patterns that are likely on its back.

But not all devices have the same standard, mostly due to size. You’d have to measure the horizontal and vertical distances of the outermost holes to find the standard on your TV. That means you’d have to take it down or move it out of the way to make those measurements. There might be a lot of cross-referencing and memorizing the names of the different standards.

It’s all a hassle at best.

You’d be spending all that time and energy just to potentially be disappointed if and when you find out it won’t work with your setup. Figuring out the different standards doesn’t have to be a pain. So, rather than wasting all that time doing it yourself, you can hire us to do it for you!

We’re just an email away—reach out and all your mounting needs will be solved worry-free.

YOUR TV’S WEIGHT AND MOUNT COMPATIBILITY MATTERS!

Most manufacturers include instructions with their TVs on how to determine mount weight compatibility. If you’re ever in doubt, it’s a handy thing to know when you’re determining if you wanttv mounted in an apartment living room your TV mounted in the first place!

The specifications of what is and isn’t compatible should be listed among the papers that hopefully came in the box. Obviously, the bigger your TV, the greater its weight. All mounts have a maximum amount of weight that they can carry, along with any compatible VESA standards. As long as your TV falls within the guidelines, your mount should be able to hold your TV’s weight.

Your TV should be wider than your fixed mounts if you have any, or it’ll hang out on both sides. And if you’ve got a curved TV, then you might need a special mount for that, too! When it comes to TV mounting, you’re going to want to make sure that everything is up to snuff. Not all mounts are created equal. If you get the wrong one—one that’s too weak—then say goodbye to your TV!

Don’t get burned by potentially making the wrong decisions. Let us help you out with this—it doesn’t have to be hard.

DRYWALL/BRICK/PLASTER
TV MOUNTING IN Hamilton Heights IS TRICKY,
BUT NOT FOR ME!

drywall with texture on the wallThe safest place to mount a TV, or anything really, is on a stud. But if the wall that you want to mount your TV on is drywall, then it’s a different story. It can be brittle, weak, and pretty risky. But if you really want to do it, then there’s a few options to work with.

First, you could use anchors. You could have a hole drilled in the wall, then insert the sleeve and anchor piece. Or, you could use toggle anchors/bolts. Those work by attaching to the back of the drywall, and the anchor essentially uses the entire wall for support. You could also use a molly bolt, which could act as an anchor. They have the advantages of ease of installation and greater strength, but they’re somewhat harder to use over other anchors. Finally, one more option you could try is to mount your TV from the ceiling! This avoids the downsides of drywall mounting, but it could come with its own set of problems. It might be a more difficult and technical challenge when you want to take your TV down. And you might not even be able to do it at all if you’ve got another apartment above you. But if you’ve got the right conditions for it, then it’s good that you might also have that option!

Even if it’s drywall, or some other weird thing, reach out and we’ll help you get your TV mounted!
